Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia has a very similar clinical symptom presentation to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome CFS/ME. Historically it was often reported that the primary symptom of CFS/ME was fatigue, whereas the primary symptom of Fibromyalgia was assumed to be chronic pain. However clinical experience has shown that this is not always the case, and often our patients find they can fluctuate between pain and fatigue as their primary symptom - and for some people there may be times when another symptom such as brain fog or dizziness is their most debilitating symptom.
As with all our assessments, we focus on your specific symptoms and how they affect you on a daily basis, taking into account the areas of your life that you feel are being affected by your condition. Improving quality of life is always the aim, and our focus is to make you the expert in your condition so you can have a confident understanding of your symptoms and their triggering factors.
In addition to our other interventions, we will discuss pain management advice, positioning to relieve pain and aid sleep, and can look at pain medication and how it is being taken to ensure you are getting the most out of the medicines you are taking.
